Wittenberg Castle Church is probably the most famous and most popular destination in the historic centre of Wittenberg. The world-famous Thesis Door, today a popular photo motif, is no longer the original door on which Luther probably nailed his 95 theses. The door that now stands in this place is cast in bronze and bears Luther's theses. The castle tower, visible from afar, is framed by a line from one of Luther's hymns: "A strong fortress is our God." The tower originally belonged to Wittenberg Castle along with a second, demolished tower. The castle church has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
