About the artwork

Salome is the daughter of Herod Philip and Herodias. Her name is known from the work of the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus. In the New Testament Salome is not mentioned by name, but later she appears as the daughter of Herodias. At the insistence of her mother, Salome brought about the death of John the Baptist by asking for the head of John the Baptist as a reward for her dancing.

Here the executioner is still standing with the sword next to the victim after the execution. The woman Salome stands by the hot severed head. The girl is in oriental dress, topless with shoulders and breasts bare and naked in the portrait. The arms are also exposed.

Franz Heinrich Louis (Lovis) Corinth (Tapiau, East Prussia - Germany, 21 July 1858 - Zandvoort, Netherlands, 17 July 1925) was a German painter and graphic artist. The artist is considered an important representative of German Impressionism. Especially his later work is a synthesis of impressionism and expressionism.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
