Love-in-a-mist comes from the ranunculus family (Ranunculaceae). After flowering, the damsel-in-the-green makes very special large seed pods. These are a kind of round buds with a wreath of dried feathered leaves around it. When the seed box is completely dry, the drop-shaped black seeds fall out of slots on the top.
