The woman you see pictured is Mary of Modena. Mary was queen of England in the period 1685-1689. Her portrait (which I have gratefully and respectfully used) was painted around 1680 by Dutch painter Simon Verelst (1644-1710).
My ode to love that is sometimes very strange, but also beautiful. Just like this work of art.
