About "Long-eared owl in tree"

About the artwork

In a village in South Holland, several long-eared owls have been roosting in a willow in the middle of a residential area from October-November. This one was sitting fairly freely in the willow and I was able to photograph it. What beautiful piercing orange eyes this owl has.

The Long-eared Owl is only a small owl compared to the largest owl species found in the Netherlands (the Eagle Owl). The male weighs 250 grams on average and the female slightly more, around 300 grams.
They have a great camouflage colour that often prevents people from spotting them because they sit close to the trunk in the middle of evergreen trees.

Key features of the Long-eared Owl are its ear tufts and eyes. The feathers are not ears, which is what many people think. You can tell the owl's state of mind from its feathers. Upright feathers indicate that the owl is alert.

It is highly recommended not to stay at the spot for more than 10 min to avoid disturbance and stay at a distance and use a telephoto lens.

Here I used a 600 mm lens.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
