I also took this photo during one of my hikes taken from the yurt near Lake Son Kul.
And what a beautiful setting to walk in this is.
You could really walk there for hours without encountering anything or anyone.
Sometimes you could also see several herds of grazing animals, but I did not come across one stray cow like the one pictured here.
Probably the animal will have belonged to the rest of the herd, which can be seen on the right of the picture.
I also assumed that this cow would find its way back to the herd by itself.
And otherwise, the animal would be found by one of the horsemen/nomads who reunited the herds in collaboration with their dogs.
I also noticed that they use some kind of sheepdogs for this, and not Bordercollies like ours.
