Loch Lomond is a large and deep lake (loch) in Scotland. It is located on the western boundary of the southern Highlands.
The lake is about 37 km long and up to 8 km wide, has an average depth of 37 meters and a maximum depth of 190 meters. Loch Lomond is the largest lake in Scotland in terms of surface area.
The lake is the centre of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park which was created in 2002 and includes the Trossachs. It is located twenty kilometers from Glasgow, and is therefore an important tourist area.
