About ‘Lilac breasted roller trotter in the Serengeti, Tanzania’ by Teun Janssen
The lilac breasted roller lives on the savannah and in open forests in Africa. They often sit, alone or in pairs, in treetops or on poles. This is a very colourful bird, which owes its Dutch and French name to the two long feathers at the end of its tail. While its English name refers to the purple-coloured feathers on its chest.
