1 of the most unique birds, especially found in Africa, is the lilac breasted roller. This bird has one of the most colorful feather downs you can find. The bird is quite common is, normally from a distance, easy to spot because of its colorful feathers.
Since the bird is obviously not crazy or stupid, you can usually see this bird well from a distance and capture it reasonably well with a telephoto lens.
However, I was lucky in this moment. Only 3 meters from our jeep safari, somewhere in 1 of the many national parks in Tanzania, Africa, this bird sat down on a branch and posed for us.
The sharpness of this image is gigantic and every little feather, from quill feather to tusk and even the tail feather can be seen in great detail.
The colors are from orange red in the background, due to the drought, to bright blue in the feather pack. The orange head with some white feathers and the aqua blue with pink/purple colors make this a fantastic eye-catcher for as a print on the wall.
