The Kijkduin lighthouse, popularly known as Lange Jaap, is a lighthouse located just north of Fort Kijkduin in Huisduinen, near Den Helder in the province of North Holland. The tower received national monument status in 1988.
With a length of 63.45 metres, the Lange Jaap is the highest lighthouse in the Netherlands that is still burning (between 1974 and 2008 it was the lighthouse on the Maasvlakte) and the highest closed cast-iron lighthouse in the world. The construction of the tower started in 1877 and the light could be lit on 1 April 1878.
