This vast green landscape stretches around Mount Bromo, in the Tengger region on the island of Java, Indonesia. The light-bathed hills reveal brilliant shades of green, contrasting magnificently with the intense blue of the sky and the white clouds above. Here, nature seems to be suspended in absolute calm, offering an atmosphere of serenity after the mineral harshness of the neighbouring volcanic areas.
The grasslands of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park change with the seasons: sometimes golden in the drought, sometimes lush green after the rains. This bucolic setting is home to a discreet biodiversity and is often used as pasture for the horses of the Tengger inhabitants. The path that winds through the valley invites you to contemplate and walk slowly, to the rhythm of the wind caressing the tall grasses.
The contrast between the gentle hills and the nearby volcanic power symbolises Java's fragile yet harmonious balance: a living, vibrant land where each landscape tells a story of fire and fertility.
