About ‘Lichtung 02’ by Mio Schweiger | Authentic Photography

This artwork shows a moment of human intimacy and tenderness in the midst of green nature. It is about the human connection between all people, regardless of gender. In support of this message, one of the models is a transgender person. It is also about the human connection to nature itself, which provides the space and chemistry to feel tenderness, closeness and emotional and physical attraction. The light in this captured moment comes from natural sunlight. The German word "Lichtung" refers to a clearing in the forest where sparser trees let in more light. "Licht" is "clearing" in German, so the title was deliberately chosen with a double meaning: to bring more light and awareness into human relationships as well as the world at large, and to create more moments of peace like this one. I started taking photographs in the summer of 1988. With a borrowed camera, I went in search of a motif in my home town and the first thing I photographed was a manhole cover. At the time, I had no idea that this would be the first image in a very diverse series of manhole cover photographs. Exhibitions of these works eventually led to the first photo commissions.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
