About "Legacy from an old time"

About the artwork

The windmill the reason why the Netherlands exists. Became so big while being so small. Since all the dykes, bridges, storm surge barriers, and other modern contrivances, these behemoths have come to a standstill. Like a monument to days gone by, they now stand there only for show. Unused, silent, unloved. Most of them, at least. It makes me think. What is technology that is so important today and completely obsolete in 150 years' time? Will we as a species still be around then?

To me, this image is both sad and beautiful. Because despite no longer needing to fulfil its function, it is still a beautiful analogue machine that has earned its retirement. And despite everything, it still stands proudly. I can only wish that my legacy has made an impact by then. However small.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
