In the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, right next to the Louvre, is this carousel. I took this photo on a cold, gray day in autumn and it reminded me of days gone by. What I saw was almost timeless, only the seats in front of the carousel hinted at the era in which the photo was taken.
Although the carousel's lights were on, no one was there and the carousel was not spinning. No children playing, no people with smartphones or a cappuccino in hand on their way to an appointment, just fallen leaves on the ground that crunched under my feet. And that in a metropolis... Time truly stood still for a moment.
I decided to convert the photo to sepia, which brought out my feelings even more strongly. It produced an atmospheric image that would not be out of place in your interior if you like a little nostalgia. Parisian chic, but not with the standardized image.
