Layered autumn magic.

A fairy tale on the forest floor
A little fairy-tale world unfolds amongst the moss and autumn leaves.

A large, pale-coloured mushroom stands in the centre like a laid table. Around it, the smaller mushrooms in warm shades of yellow and golden brown seem to be performing a cheerful round dance. The soft background allows the shapes to blend into one another and reinforces the feeling that you are catching a glimpse of a hidden world.

This photographic artwork is composed of four superimposed photographs. By carefully combining these images, a layered whole is created in which some details stand out whilst others fade gently into the background. This gives the forest floor an almost painterly quality: recognisably natural, yet leaving room for the imagination. The dancing mushrooms lend the tranquil scene a playful character, as if the party is only just beginning when no one is looking.

The warm earth tones, the soft green of the moss and the light-coloured mushroom caps combine to form a tranquil colour palette. In this way, the work brings the intimacy and wonder of the autumnal woodland indoors.

An atmospheric image for those who love nature with an artistic twist. Up close, you discover small details; from a distance, it is the soft shapes and warm colours that really come into their own. An invitation to pause for a moment and let your imagination run free.
