Lavender fields near Provencal monastery (summery, soothing, warm, idyllic, painting) by Natalie Bruns

This painting takes you to sun-drenched Provence, where the lavender fields are in full bloom. In the foreground, a sea of purple hues unfolds, running in undulating lanes towards the old monastery. The blue shutters contrast beautifully with the warm earthy tones of the stone walls and orange roofs, giving the scene a vibrant yet serene feel.

The thick strokes of paint give the work a powerful texture; the lavender seems almost palpable, as if the scent meets you. Small details, such as the shadows between the rows of flowers and the warm light on the walls, make this work special. The play of colours, cool purple and fresh blue versus warm ochre and terracotta, evokes a sense of balance and harmony.

The mood of this painting is warm and soothing, with a touch of nostalgia. It exudes the charm of summer days, holiday spirit and the beauty of simple, timeless landscapes.

This work fits beautifully in an interior in need of colour and warmth, and is ideal for anyone who loves France, travelling or the magic of lavender fields.
