During my trip through the Swiss Alps, I naturally had to photograph the famous little church in the village of Lauterbrunnen. It is perhaps the most famous most photographed spot in Switzerland but not without reason, it could be a 17th century painting. I was there during sunset at a time when the sun is just touching the mountains and turning them orange, which gives that little bit extra to this photo.
Lauterbrunnen is a picturesque village in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland, set in a narrow valley surrounded by steep cliffs and spectacular mountains. The village is known for its beauty, especially the impressive Staubbach waterfall, which plunges down from a height of almost 300 metres. The name "Lauterbrunnen" means "many springs", referring to the numerous waterfalls in the area. This mountain village acts as a gateway to the Jungfrau region and is popular among hikers, climbers and nature lovers. It is also a perfect base for excursions to famous mountain peaks such as the Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch. The Swiss character of Lauterbrunnen, with its wooden chalets and green meadows, attracts travellers looking for tranquillity and impressive landscapes.
