The Dutch Wadden area is a unique nature reserve. A nature area in which low tide plays a major role. Under the seawater lie large sandbanks that fall dry at low tide. This unique nature area is home to many different plants and animals.
The Wadden area therefore rightly deserves the title of World Heritage Site.
The Dutch Wadden Islands are located in this area. One of these islands is Schiermonnikoog. The island itself is a vast nature reserve. A beautiful holiday spot for endless walking or cycling.
There are two lighthouses on the island, one white and one red. The red one, pictured in this photo, is also called the Noordertoren.
This photo reminds me of holidays in the north of the Netherlands and the day I was on Schiermonnikoog. A day with sunshine and beautiful cloudy skies. But certainly also a day with a lot of wind. All these elements of the weather can be seen in the photo. The wind makes the grass in the dunes move and causes movement in the clouds. It seems like everything is moving in this photo but the lighthouse is standing still. It is firmly anchored in the dunes and has defied the strong sea winds for many years.
A beautiful photo of a Dutch landscape that brings the holiday feeling into your home!
Also beautiful on canvas in the garden.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
