Landing Pilatus PC-9 during AIR 14.
The Pilatus PC-9 is a single-engine, low-wing, tandem-seat turboprop training aircraft designed and built by Pilatus in Switzerland. Designed as a more powerful further development of the Pilatus PC-7, the first flight of the PC-9 was made in May 1984, followed by certification in September 1985.
This photo was taken during AIR14 on Aug. 30, 2014 at Payerne Air Base. The aircraft was a factory demonstration aircraft. After the aircraft was removed from service, it was placed on a traffic circle in Stans in May 2021.
AIR 14 was a major airshow celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force held at Payerne Air Base. The event took place on two consecutive weekends.
