Colourful patchwork composed of snippets of packaging material. Using prints from food boxes, a composition of snippets with partly readable and recognisable advertisement texts was made. Around the portrait, after a self-portrait of Carel Fabricius, images of delft blue, fish and other ornaments have been added. The patchwork is partly physical, created with scissors and cardboard, but also digital. The work invites one to explore recognisable details. The large quantity and diversity of packaging show excessive prosperity, while the use of this material seen as waste as a medium for art shows how little is needed to create art.
