In the north of Albania is Lake Komani, a large reservoir. Roads are hardly to be found in this area and it is the ferry across this lake that connects the few towns in this area. The ferry connects the large town of Skhoder with Valbona, one of the popular hiking areas in the Albanian Alps. The ferry sails once a day and the trip takes about 3 hours. During this crossing you won't get bored for a second. You sail through a beautiful landscape which looks a lot like a fjord landscape. High steep rising cliffs are alternated with green hills and the color of the water varies from blue to green. Really beautiful to see.
