The nineteen Kinderdijk mills are on the Unesco World Heritage List. Now it is a tourist attraction and the protected village scene is popular with tourists from all over the world, but in the past the windmills were used to dry the polder.
Kinderdijk is located in the Alblasserwaard and is easily accessible from Dordrecht and Rotterdam.
