Karol Hiller (1891-1939) was a Polish painter, graphic artist and avant-garde artist known for his unique "heliographs" - an experimental technique between photography and printmaking. He was an important representative of the constructivist and surrealist movements in Poland. Hiller combined geometric and abstract forms with expressive elements to create innovative, visionary works. Despite his artistic influence, he was arrested and murdered by the Gestapo in 1939.
