For many years, the Boeing 747 was the flagship of two Dutch airlines, KLM and Martinair. Martinair Cargo, which is part of the KLM group, operates flights with the last four 747's that still have Schiphol as their home base. Martinair Cargo leases three Jumbo's from KLM for this purpose, the fourth is owned.
When the corona pandemic broke out, KLM, like many other airlines, said an accelerated farewell to its last 747's for passenger transport with the retirement of its last seven aircraft in March 2020. However, three of these were subsequently still used exclusively for cargo transport for seven months, these were the "Combi's" PH-BFT (Tokyo), PH-BFV (Vancouver) and PH-BFW (Shanghai).
