This is a work from my "Geef mij maar Amsterdam" series. All weeks in this series have a different point of view and cut-out. This building is located at the Singel, corner of the Haarlemmerstraat.
The building has been provided with a statue of a (guardian) angel on the roof by the Noord-Braband Life Insurance Company in 1922.
It seems that the angel was painted black during the Second World War so that enemy planes could not see it.
