This image shows part of a jasmine plant. It is a stem with leaves on either side. The leaves are green and the background is black (lowkey). Moving my camera to the side while printing creates movement in the leaves and stem. The edges of the leaves and stem are sharp and the rest is soft and blurry. Look closely at this maybe you can still see a grain running here and there. The stem runs up and down the middle. The side branches with leaves go both left and right. The image is completely filled in the middle with green leaves in motion.
This method of photography is different from what you are used to. It is quite difficult to estimate in advance the effect of moving the camera. In post-processing, I look at sharpness, movement and composition and elaborate. I like to create images that hold your gaze longer.
