While on holiday at Camping Cévennes-Provence near Anduze, France, we visited this park in Nîmes. It is an old park, where many people from Nîmes and the surrounding area seek their entertainment and relaxation. There is a lot of photography in the park and, as a tourist, I couldn't help but capture this beautiful setting. The walls pleasantly guide you through the picture and each time you discover new details, so you don't get bored looking at it.
I composed this picture from two photos so that it became a panorama. I also put the photo in black and white, because I wanted to use it to create a more graphic image. For me, that suits the mood I feel with this.
At the club exhibition of FotoExpressieGroepGemert last May, a fellow photographer recognised the park and could tell that the same park was photographed in 1859 by the famous French photographer Edouard Denis Baldus. He then titled the photo Jardin de la Fontaine, Nimes.
