Jaguar presents the finest car of its class in the world
1958, Jaguar brochures Jaguar Mark IX
Drive like a Rolls-Royce, but only pay half the price!
With the Jaguar IX introduced in 1958 this was possible, just as it was equipped with all wood panelling even in the rear and its new driving comfort. And with the Silver Cloud I + II it also had a certain similarity except for the radiator grille. For the Jaguar IX in 1960 only 22,150 DM or £2063 were to be paid, for the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II however 57,230 DM or £6092, that was at that time a real house number who could or wanted to keep up there. But in Germany you could buy the VW Beetle 1200 Standard at least 5 times for only 3.790 DM, but it had only 33 hp instead of 220 hp like the Jaguar Mark IX.
