Josef Eberz (June 3, 1880 in Limburg an der Lahn, Hesse, Germany; August 27, 1942 in Munich, Bavaria) was a German painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and designer of mosaics and stained glass windows with a strong focus on religious subjects.
From 1901 he studied at the Munich Art Academy with Franz Stuck and Peter Halm; in 1904 he moved to the Düsseldorf Art Academy and in the same year to Karlsruhe. In 1905 he went to the Art Academy of Stuttgart.
Eberz began as an expressionist, influenced by Futurism and Cubism; in his later monumental works there was a strong influence of Pittura metaphisica.
