In the window light (painting thick paint cat by the window pet warm portrait)

by Natalie Bruns

This warm and intimate painting shows a cat sitting in the soft window light, alert but relaxed. The sun falls precisely on her chest and muzzle, illuminating the orange-brown fur pattern beautifully against the cool blue background.

Note the paint texture: the thick, almost tactile brushstrokes give depth to each hair and make the whole picture vibrant and powerful. Her eyes look directly at you, as if she is fathoming your thoughts. A small moment of hushed connection.

The painting exudes homeliness and security, exuding a soft warmth that is perfect for a cosy reading corner, windowsill or workspace. Ideal for cat lovers or people who love tranquillity in the home and have an eye for the beauty of the everyday. This work is not just an animal portrait, but an atmospheric reminder of the quiet moments that are often most meaningful.

My inspiration for creating a collection of animal portraits was inspired by my childhood, growing up among animals. My parents kept goats and sheep, among others, and that is where my love for nature and animal life was born. Each animal had its own character, its own look, its own energy, and it is precisely this diversity that still fascinates me. In these paintings, I try to capture not only the form, but especially the soul of the animal.
