The Höfats rises majestically in the middle of the Allgäu Alps - a queen of rock and greenery. On this bright summer's day, seen from the narrow path of the Laufbacher-Eck, the world seems to linger in silent awe. The flanks of the Höfats, sharp and steep, wear the lush dress of summer: vibrant green, interspersed with rough ridges and shadows. Like a mighty wave of frozen movement, it rises into the immaculate blue sky, its wild face at once repellent and attractive.
Further down, yellow alpine flowers bloom in the soft grass, as if to draw the eye back to the warmth of the here and now. But your gaze inevitably wanders back up to where light and stone meet, where you can feel the breath of the mountains.
Up here, where the path is narrow and thoughts are wide, walking becomes a meditation. The Höfats stands there like an ancient poem - unchanged and yet new every day. It does not speak in words, but in wind and silence, in light and shadow. Anyone who encounters it carries a piece of its wildness and majesty with them - deep in their heart, long after the descent.
