In Van Gogh's The Whale in a Wavy Sea under the Sun, two worlds meet - not to merge, but to collide.
The sea and sky are composed of expressive brushstrokes that reference Van Gogh's iconic style, while the whale, on the other hand, is rendered realistically, digitally sharp and with cool tones. He does not belong, and that is exactly the intention.

The whale "populates" this painterly world without being part of it - an intruder between brush and pixel, between dream and reality.
