Built at the end of the 18th century, this church is one of the most important examples of neoclassical architecture in the Algarve.
The facade emphasizes the triangular pediment and the three large windows framed by masonry with a semi-circular arch.
Inside, with a single nave, there are four neoclassical side altars where you can admire two images from the end of the 18th century, São Luís and São Pedro.
However, it is in the choir, preceded by an imposing triumphal arch, that this church is most interesting. It is a depiction of the patron saint of the city of Albufeira, Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in rococo style. This quality work dates from the second half of the 18th century and has unusual dimensions: about two meters and forty centimeters high!
