About "Hüsli in the Black Forest"

by resuimages

About the artwork

The Hüsli, located in Grafenhausen-Rothaus in the district of Waldshut, is a remarkable museum of local history in the style of a Black Forest house. The Hüsli was built in 1911 as a luxurious holiday home by the Berlin concert singer Helene Siegfried. During her stays in the Black Forest, she collected components and furnishings from old farmhouses and artefacts from the region and had everything built into her Hüsli in the original style. After the destruction of her Berlin flat in 1945, she chose the Hüsli as her home. The Hüsli became famous through the TV series "Die Schwarzwaldklinik", in which it was the residence of Prof. Dr Brinkmann. After the death of Helene Siegfried-Aichele in 1966, the Hüsli was converted into a museum. The Hüsli is more than just a museum. It is a testimony to regional culture and history and an important landmark of the Black Forest. With its collection of original furnishings from other Black Forest houses, the Hüsli offers a unique insight into the life and traditions of the region. The Hüsli is also an important tourist attraction. Every year, it attracts thousands of visitors who want to learn more about the history of the Black Forest. The Hüsli in the Black Forest is a fascinating piece of history and culture. It offers a unique insight into the cultural heritage of the region and is an important part of the Black Forest's tourist offer.
