About ‘Huế: Tombe van Minh Mạng’ by Maarten Verhees

Aan de westkant van de Parfumrivier liggen de indrukwekkende keizerlijke grafmonumenten. De tombes behoren toe aan de keizer Minh Mang die leefde van 1820 tot 1841. Hij was de tweede zoon van keizer Gia Long, de stichter van de laatste Vietnamese dynastie, de Nguyen-dynastie (1802-1945). Rond 1826 was hij van plan het graf voor zichzelf te bouwen. Pas in september 1840, 14 jaar naar het zoeken naar de juiste lokatie, begon de daadwerkelijke bouw van het graf.In januari 1841 - tijdens de bouwfase - werd Minh Mang ziek en overleed hij op 52-jarige leeftijd. Keizer Thieu Tri, zijn opvolger op de troon, bleef de taak volgens zijn vader plannen. Minh Mang's lijk werd begraven in Buu Thanh in augustus 1841. De bouw van het graf werd in 1843 voltooid. De Minh Mang Tomb staat bekend om zijn architectuur, die harmonieus past in het omringende landschap. Net als andere graven uit deze periode springen de volgende elementen voor wat betreft de architectuur eruit: De buitenmuren, de toagangsppoort, het Stèle huis, de meren, paviljoens, de tuinen en natuurlijk het graf zelf. De tombe ligt ongeveer 12 kilometer buiten de stad Hue.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
