The Hotel New York on Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam is a hotel housed in the former executive building of the Holland-America Line (H.A.L.). Opened in 1993, the hotel was, at the time of its opening, the first new business to establish itself, boldly, at Kop van Zuid, the city centre extension on the south bank of the river Maas. Only when the Erasmus Bridge opened in 1996 did the hotel get a short connection to the city centre. However, the hotel has been a station for a regular water taxi since its opening. Since 1997, there has also been a metro station nearby, Wilhelminaplein station.
