Goosebumps and chills creep up on you as you look through the blocks of Berlin's most impressive monument. Holocaust-Mahnmal or Holocaust-Denkmal. This is where the Jews who were murdered in World War II are commemorated.
This photo is a black-and-white winter shot in which this lone, growth-still tree highlights the bleakness of what was left behind, it contrasts with the 'overgrown' coniferous tree. Life and death are so close together.
