About "Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi"

by Silva Wischeropp

About the artwork

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (Vietnamese Lăng Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh) is a large memorial in Hanoi, Vietnam, dedicated to the former Vietnamese leader Hồ Chí Minh.
The mausoleum was built in the style of the Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow and completed in 1975.

Hồ Chí Minh (1890-1969), also known as Bác Hồ (伯胡, "Uncle Ho"), was the founder and leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam and played a crucial role in Vietnam's struggle for independence from colonial rule. He served as President of North Vietnam from 1945 until his death in 1969.
The embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh is kept in a glass case in the central hall of the mausoleum, and visitors can walk past the body to pay their last respects.
The mausoleum is a popular tourist attraction in Hanoi, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
Visitors to the mausoleum must adhere to a strict dress code and code of conduct, and photography is strictly prohibited inside the mausoleum.
