Old, black tarred barn in the Noordwaardpolder of the Brabantse Biesbosch near the village of Werkendam, municipality of Altena, Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands. The barn was built in the year 1900. The Noordwaard polder is flooded by the high water in the adjacent river Nieuwe Merwede. That was precisely the intention of the project Room for the River, a five-year project that was completed in 2014. The picture was taken at the beginning of the winter of 2019.
