About ‘Historic canal houses, Hoge der A, Groningen’ by Michelle Wever

As a portrait photographer from Groningen, I prefer to plan my shoots in the early morning, when the light is soft and the city is still quiet. On an early summer morning, I captured this typical Dutch picture, overlooking the Hoge der A. The historic buildings along the canal, the boat, the bicycles and the tree in the middle create a picturesque image. The reflection of the sun gives a beautiful golden glow to the water and its surroundings. This photo, taken with a film camera, captures the serene beauty of Groningen at the end of summer, beginning of autumn.
