This Herring Gull had young on the rocks that were hungry. So it was very busy for the bird to get food. The gull's beautiful white feathers stand out beautifully against the dark rocks in the background. Because the bird was braking for landing, its wings come into view very nicely. Like an angel landing.
The herring gull is a common bird of the coast and inland. The young herring gull is predominantly brown and gradually acquires the plumage of the adult. The herring gull eats almost everything, including bread and chips. It breeds in colonies in dune areas. As foxes often raid the nests there, the herring gull is increasingly taking refuge on urban rooftops.
