The stars in the sky are thought to have originated from drops of Hera's milk. For this reason we use the term "Milky Way" for our galaxy. The peacock, cow and crow are animals dedicated to Hera. Together with Zeus, she had four children: Ares and Hephaistos (gods) and Eileithyia and Hèbè (goddesses).
Like Zeus, the goddess has control over the air and atmosphere. For example, she can cause all kinds of weather phenomena, such as thunder and lightning, to descend over the earth. As the wife of Zeus, Hera enjoys great prestige in the kingdom of gods. She is also called the queen of the Greek gods.
I think it's cool to portray strong women. Hera is the goddess of marriage and symbolizes fertility. As queen of the Greek gods, she has many more qualities as depicted in this artwork.
The work was created in my imagination with the aim of portraying a strong woman. In collaboration with European champion bodypainting Monique Penning, model Aziza was transformed into goddess Hera. Images made during my travels in America and Greece are used as entourage.
The work fits in a tough interior of a person who can identify with Hera. It also fits well in a business that focuses on women's resilience or is run by tough women of distinction.
