About ‘Held by the current’ by Lauryn Walpole

To me, this work radiates change in a comforting way. In this work, you see flowing water making its way past branches and riverbanks. The image is partially filtered by a soft, blurred foreground, making it seem as if you are not looking directly at the water, but gently glancing past it. Light reflects off the surface and breaks into small, fleeting sparkles that can never quite be grasped. The branch in the centre forms a quiet anchor point amid the movement, almost as if it is being carried along by the current.
This image arose from observing water as something that is constantly in motion, but never seems to be in a hurry. The inspiration did not come from a specific moment, but from looking longer. The more attention you give, the more layers become visible. It is not the water itself that is central, but the relationship between holding on and letting go.
The atmosphere is calm and slightly tense at the same time. The water moves, but the image remains still. It feels cool and soft, without becoming distant. For me, this work is about going with the flow, without resistance, without imposing direction. About being carried by something bigger than yourself.
In an interior, this work brings a sense of movement without unrest. It fits well in a space where tranquillity, reflection and attention are important. An image that keeps changing, not because it moves, but because your gaze does.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
