About "Happy New Year!"

About the artwork

I created this illustration in response to my fascination with the imagery of the 1950s and 1960s. For me, those decades carry a festive and optimistic spirit, and I wanted to capture that in a work reflecting New Year’s Eve and the transition into a new year. The colour palette, typography, and composition are all inspired by designs from that era.

The artwork conveys the lively atmosphere of New Year’s Eve: bold lettering, festive fireworks, and classic ornaments reminiscent of 1950s Christmas baubles. It also forms a natural companion to my Christmas illustrations, adding a cheerful, nostalgic feel.

For me, this piece is about the sense of a fresh start: the moment when you reflect on the old year while looking forward to what lies ahead. The blend of retro style and festive details creates a warm, timeless atmosphere that recalls the charm of vintage New Year’s cards, while still feeling contemporary.

Designed in a vertical format, this piece works well in many settings – from a living room, dining room, or hallway, to a space where family and friends gather to celebrate New Year’s Eve. It adds a touch of retro style and highlights the festive spirit of the season.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
