Happiness is a clover flower full of pollen.

Bumblebee: full-time forager, part-time stylist (pollen is the new black).

One flower, one bumblebee, infinite life.

This is an intimate close-up of the moment when nature and necessity come together. In the heart of a white-and-pink clover flower sits a bumblebee, nestled deep within the calyx. What at first glance appears to be a simple scene reveals exquisite details upon closer inspection. You can see the fine hairs on its body covered in pollen, and the texture of the delicate petals supporting the weight of the visitor. It is a moment of pure focus and bustle, captured in silence.

My inspiration came during a walk on a sunny autumn day. I was looking for dynamism in nature, but was drawn to the tranquillity of this particular moment. I saw how the bumblebee gave itself entirely to its task, completely absorbed in the process. The image appealed to me because it brings the scale of life so close; normally you only see this when you kneel down, but here we experience it face to face.

The message of this work is about the unseen labour that keeps the world turning. This tiny bumblebee carries heavy burdens, both literally and figuratively. It is an ode to the hard-working nature of small life. The work calls for gratitude towards these pollinators, who are essential to our food supply but are often overlooked. It is a symbol of resilience: even if you are small, you can make a big difference.
