The Hanskühnenburg is a managed mining hut in the western Harz Mountains. It stands at 811 m above sea level on the ridge "Auf dem Acker" in the middle of the Harz National Park and has an observation tower. Its name comes from the legendary Hanskühnenburg cliff 300 m to the northeast, which was visited by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe on August 14, 1784.
