Along Willemstad's lively Handelskade, brightly coloured colonial buildings stand proudly in the sun, each with its own character and history. The colourful facades reflect beautifully in the calm waters of Sint Anna Bay. The iconic Pontjesbrug - also called the Queen Emma Bridge - connects the two parts of the city, Punda and Otrobanda, on its distinctive floating pontoons. It is a unique and recognisable piece of Curaçao that atmospherically brings together the island's past and everyday life.
