This picture shows a small lake with poles standing in the water on which seagulls and cormorants sit. The cormorants are drying the feathers of their wings in the air. There is a dense fog that makes nothing but this subject visible. The photo exudes an almost serene stillness and peaceful calm. And all this while right behind it is the A2 motorway. This is a photo location I visited several times but never got satisfactory pictures of. Just in these foggy conditions, I finally succeeded. The photo was taken at the bottom of the Diefdijk in Zijderveld. This photo is part of the exhibition 'Omgeving IJsselstein', which is/was on display in February and March 2016 in the library of IJsselstein (Utrecht).
