This picture was taken in Morocco and shows a narrow, green wooden door. The door is round at the top, as is the plastered frame in which it is placed. The gentle arch shape gives the whole a peaceful look. Mosaic can be seen on both sides of the bottom of the façade in shades that match the colour of the door. The small tiles are neatly laid and form a decorative pattern often seen in the traditional architecture of Morocco.
The rest of the facade is plastered white. The white plaster provides a clear contrast to the green wood of the door and the green mosaic tiles below. The combination of colour, shape and material is typical of urban architecture in many Moroccan cities. Especially in historical districts, this style is still often used.
The picture quietly shows the richness of Moroccan architecture, with attention to detail in both the design of the door and the use of mosaic. The combination of simplicity and ornamentation makes this facade characteristic of the streetscape in Morocco.
