This work shows a deserted Gravenstraat in Amsterdam. The narrow street runs behind the Nieuwe Kerk to the Nieuwendijk which is an extension of the Kalverstraat. In the foreground we see a typical Amsterdam streetlamp. The buildings in the winding street are centuries old, some with for example a bell gable. On the right side the back of the Nieuwe Kerk is visible.
